Greetings ServiceVote Action Team,

Here's an opportunity to serve your community during the Election - by serving as a poll worker. One of ServiceVote's partners, Mobilize.org, is mobilizing 500 young people to serve as poll workers on Election Day. The best part is - anyone can serve as a poll worker - and you'll learn a lot about how votes are actually cast and counted!

Mobilize The Polls - Serve as a Poll Worker

Are you from AL, AZ, AR, CA, CT, DC, FL, GA, HI, ID, IN, IA, KS, LA, MD, MO, NB, NV, NH, NC, ND, OH, OR, PA, RI, TN, VT or WV? If so, then you still have time to register as a poll worker!

Mobilize.org is proud to launch the Mobilize the Polls Program, which aims to recruit 500 poll workers under the age of 30 (and hopefully engaging many people above 30 as well!) for the 2008 Presidential Election. This election year, while youth are coming out to the polls in record numbers, they also have the opportunity to contribute to their fellow citizens’ understanding and access to the democratic process by volunteering to be a poll worker. In many cities across the country, there is a demonstrable need for poll workers. With the new technologies that are being explored to enhance the voter experience, members of the Millennial Generation can contribute their familiarity with technology to aid other members of their community to cast their ballot this November. Step 1: Choose how you want to receive action alerts.

Step 2: Act when you get an alert.

You'll receive regular action alerts.

Every 2-4 weeks, you'll receive an action alert. Each alert will provide multiple options for people under and over age 18. Each action will take no more than 5-10 minutes to complete.

For example: If you haven't already done so, register to vote. If you've already registered to vote, check with 3 friends to see if they are all registered to vote. Under 18? Check with 3 family members to make sure they are registered to vote. You, your friends, and your family can register to vote by clicking here. For more voting information, visit: http://servicevote.org/content/view/319/228/

Step 3: Report your results.

Tell us what happened.

All we need is a sentence or two. Just click to comment on the action alert posted below and let us know how your action went.

You can also tweet it and we'll see it via twitter or you can post a comment on our Facebook group

For example: "Since I'm already registered to vote, I asked 3 of my friends if they were registered. One already was, and I helped the other two register and now I'm going to make sure they actually go and vote."
